Nokia has debuted a new device for these users that connects to a bicycle and charges a mobile phone. The Nokia charger uses a dynamo that is powered by the spinning of the bike wheels. Nokia claims that the rider will need to maintain about 4 mph forward speeds to charge the device.

CYCLE SOLUTIONS DH #2 RACE REPORT PRESENTED BY LAPIERRE

On the last beautiful weekend in May, the second stop of the Cycle Solutions DH series rolled into sleepy Horseshoe resort. The DH community had no idea what was in store for them, Shane and his crew worked tirelessly tp prepare something special....and they did not disappoint !!!!!!!!

CYCLING to work may seem the healthy option, but a study has shown that people riding in cities inhale tens of millions of toxic nanoparticles with every breath, at least five times more than drivers or pedestrians.

The research involved fitting cyclists with devices that could count the particles, mostly emitted by car exhausts, in the air they were breathing.

Former Ontario attorney general Michael Bryant says the 28-second incident that led to the death of a bicycle courier in downtown Toronto last August was "horrifying."

Bryant spoke to reporters Tuesday, hours after Crown prosecutors withdrew all criminal charges against him stemming from the death of Darcy Allen Sheppard.

"What I will never forget for the rest of my life is the unnecessary tragedy of that night," Bryant said. "A young man is dead, and for his family and friends that remains the searing memory. To them, I express my sympathies and sincere condolences."

Toronto Approves Bike Sharing Plan

TORONTO, Ontario (BRAIN)—Toronto city council has voted to guarantee a $4.8 million startup loan for a bike rental company, if the firm can first generate 1,000 subscribers and private sponsorship support, according to CBC News.

"I'm predicting this is going to be very, very successful," said Toronto city councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker, who pushed hard for the bike-sharing service, to CBC News. For a fee of $78 per year, $28 per month, or $5 per day, residents and visitors would be able to use a bicycle, CBC News said. The Public Bike System Company runs a similar Bixi (bicycle taxi) program in Montreal. The Montreal operation has about 3,000 bikes parked at about 300 stations across the city.
